For 15 years now, SneakersBR has been a premier online destination for Brazilian sneakerheads to stay up to date on the latest information coming to the footwear industry. It seems that adidas has taken notice of the publication as they are tapping them in celebration of their 15th Anniversary by creating the SneakersBR x adidas Forum Low “Cristal.”
Inspired by one of the OG Forum Low colorways from 1984 and time crystals, the sneaker features a suede, leather, and chenille-covered upper in shades of blue, white, and grey. Down on the toebox and back on the heel sits hairy grey suede that contrasts the white tumbled leather details seen on the majority of the sneaker. Running up the mesh tongue is a set of white flat laces, passing by the “SneakersBR” branded lock-down strap and the Trefoil-laden tongue tag.
Chenille details land on the Three Stripes branding along the midfoot with each stripe getting a different shade of blue. For the left pair, the X-strap near the collar hosts a time crystal graphic with the Roman numeral “XV” representing the publication’s 15-year anniversary while the right sneaker keeps the standard Trefoil and adidas branding. Rounding out the design is the semi-translucent blue rubber midsole paired with an off-white rubber outsole. The entire design can be explained by SneakersBR founder Ricardo Nunes who said, “We rescued the original Forum colorway and added five more shades of blue to the composition, imagining what it would be like to be almost a crystallized version of the emblematic model.”
The SneakersBR x adidas Forum Low Cristal is scheduled to release exclusively through adidas Brazil online on September 10th, 2022. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price will be approximately $133 USD.
