Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Debuts the Converse Shai 001 Banner PE During OKC’s Ring Ceremony

The NBA is back in action. Oklahoma City and Indiana’s seven-game duel in the NBA Finals was one to remember, not only for the back-and-forth action but for two new signature sneakers battling it out on each side. OKC won on both counts, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s Converse Shai 001 having sold out in all four colorways that have been released thus far. On the court tonight for tip-off of the 2025-26 NBA season, SGA debuted a special player-exclusive version of the Shai 001 to honor OKC’s ring ceremony.

Akin to the golden Shai 001 he busted out during the celebrations on the court after winning the NBA Finals, this pair comes with metallic golden details on the base of the sneaker and sole unit. However, this version adds white accents to the no-sew neoprene overlay around the forefoot, collar, and on the leather tongue and mesh lining. Another pop of gold appears on Shai’s signature logo, which he personally designed. This pair also marks a first for the Shai 001. Aside from a grainy photo of Shai during a pre-season workout, this is the first instance where we’ve seen a two-tone take on the Shai 001 silhouette.

After debuting in the Butter colorway, the Shai 001 has continued to launch in monochrome builds. This includes the family pack, which featured pairs for his wife Hailey (Hail Clay), brother Thomasi (Masi Blue), and mother Charmaine (Charm Black). Each pair also sold out with quickness, and since then, fans have been clamoring for more. Besides this golden PE, Shai has been spotted in a pink rendition and an all-white version of his first signature sneaker.

Unfortunately for us, the Converse Shai 001 Banner PE is exclusively made for SGA.
