The Converse Shai 001 Trophy Gold Celebrates Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s First NBA Championship

Last night, the Oklahoma City Thunder became NBA champs for the first time in the team’s history (not counting their days as the Seattle Supersonics). A major part of OKC’s playoff run and recent turnaround is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the NBA MVP, Finals MVP, and Converse signature athlete. Throughout the playoffs, SGA and Converse have unveiled new colors of the Shai 001, SGA’s signature model, but last night, with confetti flying, Shai threw a golden pair of Shai 001s around his neck.
Officially dubbed Trophy Gold, the pair is doused in a monochromatic golden hue across its puffy neoprene and leather construction. The organically shaped panels appear on the midfoot, while the lacing setup is concealed via the zipper shroud system. Shai’s signature logo, which he designed, proudly sits atop the tongue. Finishing the sneaker is a golden midsole featuring Zoom Air cushioning and a tonal rubber outsole.

Unfortunately for fans of SGA, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Converse basketball, the Converse Shai 001 Trophy Gold is a 1-of-1 made exclusively for Shai to celebrate his NBA Finals victory. However, the Shai 001 is expected to debut in Fall 2025 through Converse and select retailers for $130.
