Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Converse Debut the Converse Shai 001 Masi Blue Ahead of the NBA Finals

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder are in the NBA Finals, and Converse could not be happier. The heritage footwear brand is re-entering the performance basketball space. SGA is taking charge as the creative director of Converse Basketball and will launch his signature sneaker, the Shai 001, later this year. With all eyes on SGA, he and Converse have unveiled another new colorway of his signature shoe, Masi Blue.
Like previous Shai 001 colorways, including the Hail Clay, Charm Black, and Ares Grey, this Masi Blue colorway debuted on social media and is connected to Shai’s family. The aforementioned sneakers paid homage to his wife Hailey, mom Charmaine, and son Ares, with this blue-base colorway inspired by his brother, Thomasi Gilgeous-Alexander.

The no-sew synthetic upper is dipped entirely in a monochromatic blue hue, coating the puffy neoprene paneling, zipper shroud, tongue, and sockliner. Shai’s signature logo, which he designed himself, is embroidered atop the tongue, while Converse Chevron logos find a home on the heel tab. Inside, the model comes with Zoom Air cushioning and a foam midsole. The design is completed with the tonal blue rubber outsole.
The Converse Shai 001 Masi Blue has no confirmed release information. However, the pair will likely release sometime after the Butter colorway drop in Fall 2025.
