Salehe Bembury’s Latest Puma Collab Debuts the Velum 2 Running Shoe

Salehe Bembury is always working. The footwear designer has an archive full of New Balance, Crocs, Vans, and his own independent shoes, but his latest partnership has taken Bembury’s fingerprint design ethos to the Big Cat, helping craft Tyrese Haliburton’s first signature shoe and new colorways from Puma’s Nitro running line.

Salehe’s Latest Big Cat Business

The Salehe Bembury Puma Velum Nitro 2 is the sequel to the Velum Nitro that Bembury has been working on for over half a year. On the second silhouette, Bembury streamlines the silhouette, with more mesh across the upper and a wavy structure with curved paneling popping up and down across the side panels.

Bembury previewed the new silhouette on Instagram this week in a silver, black, and yellow colorway. Featuring a metallic silver upper across the synthetic paneling, mesh, and the internal structure backing. Black adds some contrast on the logos and lace panel accents, and the sole pops in textured yellow on the midsole.
