No matter how many times we break down his undeniable resume, it never ceases to amaze us when a new Salehe Bembury project gets set to drop. The renaissance man of the sneaker industry has been working with New Balance, Puma, Crocs, and, of course, his own Spunge brand, all simultaneously, and all with shoes worth paying attention to.
The latest drop from the mind of Bembury is a new colorway of the Salehe Bembury x Puma Velum running shoe, this time in a Magenta Gleam colorway that mixes a pinkish purple mesh upper with a web of black supports, a disintegrating blue Puma stripe on the side panel, and a thick brown midsole underfoot.

Zach Harris is a writer based in Philadelphia. His work has appeared in Rolling Stone, Vice, Complex, High Times, and more. He is obsessed with skateboarding and bowling. He is still looking for his first 300. For tips, reviews, and anything in size 10.5 - zach.h@soleretriever.com
First released in September of last year, the Puma Velum is Bembury’s first foray into the Puma running department after working to bring Tyrese Haliburton’s signature silhouette, the Puma Hali 1, to life. Following debut colorways in Nitro Orange and Nitro Blue, the new Magenta Gleam combines Bembury’s easily recognizable design aesthetic with Puma’s latest advances in running tech.
The Salehe Bembury x Puma Velum Magenta Gleam will be released February 7, 2026 through Puma and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $160. For all the latest Salehe Bembury x Puma news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
