Hype around new Nike Basketball sneakers has been quite tame in the 2020s. The brand realized there was a stagnation in its design language, and looking ahead from 2025 beyond, it appears there is potential for a second golden age for the brand. One of the first silhouettes to kick-start this new chapter in Nike Basketball is the GT Future, a performance model that takes clear inspiration from the archival Nike Hyperflight and Foamposite. After a small pre-order during Nike’s NYvsNY streetball tournament in the Fire colorway, Nike is finally doing a retail release of the Metallic Silver colorway via a pop-up at Concepts Boston.

In an Instagram post announcing the pop-up, Concepts states that the GT Future in the Metallic Silver colorway will be available for purchase starting at 3 PM. From 4-6 PM, Nike and Concepts will host a conversation and meet-and-greet featuring AJ Dybansta, who helped debut the sneaker during NBA All-Star alongside Wale back in February. Since then, we’ve seen AJ rock his very own player-exclusive colorway of the sneaker in yellow.

The GT Future has become one of Nike’s most anticipated new silhouettes in recent memory, with every new colorway spotted only adding fuel to the fire. Wale became the de facto face of the sneaker in the first half of the year, spotted rocking blue, volt, electric green, and metallic orange color schemes. Frank Cooke, who worked with Jordan Brand on the NRG team in the 2010s on multiple high-profile projects, including the Nigel Sylvester Jordan 1, Travis Scott Air Jordan 4, and Virgil Abloh’s The Ten, is helping with the rollout of GT Future. He’s teased a few renditions, like a metallic copper and varsity red rendition, on his Instagram page.

If you’re in or around the Boston area, you’ll have a shot at copping the Nike GT Future Metallic Silver tomorrow, November 14, 2025, at Concepts Boston at 3 PM. Expect a wider release of the silhouette in the coming months and plenty of colors to hit shelves in 2026.
