After debuting during the NBA All-Star 2025 festivities in San Francisco, the Nike GT Future rollout is ramping up. So far, we’ve gotten looks at a slew of colorways of this performance-meets-lifestyle sneaker thanks to DMV native, rapper, and Nike Foamposite connoisseur Wale. During the Nike SNKRS Showcase, The Swoosh finally gave design details and detailed looks at the sneaker. The original pair worn by Wale, the GT Future Fire, is pictured here.
The Hyperflight and Foamposite-inspired design is done here in a fiery orange finish with a hidden 3M coating, pairing this with black accents. A gradient effect begins in a deep orange near the sole unit and turns into a lighter shade as you move up toward the angled collar and black tongue/internals. On the medial side, a forefoot Swoosh is done in a glossy black hue, while perforations on the midfoot add some breathability to the model.
Another black Swoosh is located along the collar, while the Swoosh logo on the tongue is placed vertically. Inside, the sneaker contains an internal bootie akin to a Foamposite and some of Nike's most advanced technologies for performance basketball. This includes a forefoot Air Zoom unit, a full-length Zoom Strobel midsole, and Cushlon 3.0 foam.
“The G.T. Future has both the next-level Nike performance innovation and the wow factor of a spaceship or a new sports car,” says Jason Petrie, the man behind the GT Future and plenty of other Nike Basketball classics over the years. “The shoe is evocative, futuristic and designed to connect directly with the next generation of hoopers — so when they put it on, they feel bouncy, fast and like they’re the freshest kid on the court or in class.”
The Nike GT Future Fire will release in Holiday 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $200.
