New Balance is updating a classic for a new era. After years of success with the 990v6 and a new retro turn for the 990v4, the Boston-based brand is debuting a new version of the classic silhouette, finally adding a v7 to the 990 family. After showing up in a classic grey colorway, the 990v7 hype is gearing up to add a black pair to the mix.
Back in Black
The New Balance 990v7 Black arrived in previews from the Washington Post, which took a tour of the brand’s Made in USA factory and got some detailed images of the new colorway coming off the production line. Instead of the multi-tonal grey colorway, the second colorway is a triple-black rendition that only shifts shades due to changes in material.
