With the New Orleans Pelicans still in the Playoff picture, Jordan Brand athlete, Zion Williamson has to look on from the bench for Game 5 as his team hopes to tie the series at 3-3 vs. the Phoenix Suns. Even though injuries have plagued his 2021-22 NBA season, fans of Zion can still represent their man with his first signature sneaker, the Jordan Zion 1.
Up next for the Jordan Zion 1 is a capsule collection, made in collaboration with Japanese manga series, Naturo. Zion, a fan of the anime since he was a kid says “the collection is inspired by our parallel paths of overcoming adversity.” Consisting of three unique colorways of the Zion 1 along with apparel to match, “Kyuubi,” “Nine Tails,” and “Sage Of The Six Paths” are the themes.
The Jordan Zion 1 “Kyuubi” comes in electro yellow, alpha orange, black, and chile red. A combination of the “Six Paths Sage Mode” and “Nine-Tailed Chakra Mode” aka “Nine Tails Mode,” this pair is inspired by the time Zion and Naruto harnessed their powers to fully control untamed forces against them. They feature a yellow-based upper with orange and black accents, finished off by hits of red via the bottom two lace loops.
Second is the “Nine Tails” edition of the Jordan Zion 1. This pair comes in a black, alpha orange, and chile red colorway. Inspired by the inner power of both Naruto and Zion, they feature a black-based upper with orange and red accents. A unique graphic design along with a red outsole make this pair stand out from it’s darker theme.
Rounding out the pack is the Jordan Zion 1 “Sage Of The Six Paths.” Coming in white, university red, and black, this pair pays homage to friends, peers, and family, mirroring the god-like power of the first Jinchuriki and Shinobi ancestor. It features a yin yang-style design with the right shoe coming white-based with black accents and the left shoe reversed, black-based with white accents. Red detailing and a translucent rubber outsole finish things off.
The Naruto x Jordan Zion 1 Collection is set to release on May 11th, 2022, starting with the “Kyuubi” edition. Both the “Nine Tails” and “Sage Of The Six Paths” will follow on May 18th. It will drop at Nike as well as select Jordan Brand retailers worldwide, both online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, retail is set at $130.
