The Mexican soda brand teams up for its first foray into the footwear industry with Nike SB.

Jarritos x Nike SB Dunk Low

Dating back to the 1950s, Jarritos wouldn’t make its debut in the United States until 1988, and since then, has been a mainstay at local Mexican restaurants and supermarkets alike. Like many brands in the food industry have done recently, it seems Jarritos is making its debut in the sneaker world after recently entering into the streetwear scene through a collaborative effort with Kith. According to Brenden Dunne of Complex, Nike SB will give Jarritos their very own SB Dunk Low in 2023.

Coming to us in a combination of phantom, safety orange, and malachite, the sneaker utilizes a mixture of a phantom-shaded hemp on the overlays around the mudguard, eyestays, and heel while the base leather comes in a stark white shade. Fat rope laces in white run up the thick SB tongue and come complete with green and orange aglets while the label up top gets a co-branded Jarritos and Nike SB logo. Along the midfoot, another hemp overlay takes over the malachite-shaded Nike Swoosh and reaches back to "Jarritos" text on the heel overlay. Nike SB gives us a little easter egg with the Jarritos Dunk's cutaway hemp upper and Swoosh. Both can be cut to reveal a reddish- orange leather beneath. Other notable details that nod to the Mexican soda can be found on the insole with various flavors and their logos printed in collage-like fashion and the soda "spilling" out near the lateral side of the heel overlay. Rounding everything out is the white Dunk midsole with orange accent stitching paired to a malachite and safety orange rubber outsole.

Alongside the sneakers, there will be matching apparel launching including - padded jackets, hoodie, bowling button ups, tees, and chino shirts. Two colorways for each will be released, giving us ten pieces in total. We will also see a new box for Nike SB beginning with this Jarritos collab.

The Jarritos x Nike SB Dunk Low Pro QS is expected to release in the Summer of 2023 through select Nike SB-affiliated skate shops and possibly through Nike SNKRS. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $130. Keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay in the loop on the latest in sneakers, streetwear, and more.
