Hoka Keeps Up Hybrid Trend with Bondi Mary Jane

The formal footwear hybrid and low-profile balletcore trend have taken over the sneaker industry, but when Hoka gets involved, you already know the sole is gonna be fully chunked out. After the immediate success of the Speed Loafer, HOKA is back for even more of the hybrid sneaker space with the new Bondi Mary Jane.

HOKA takes the classic women’s footwear style and turns it into a unisex hybrid with a thick Bondi running sole, a slim leather upper with bungee straps instead of laces, decorative ribbon ties, and an added speed toggle. The new silhouette will debut in two colorways, a cerise pink and rose tea red, and a classic black-on-black.

The red and pink pair features a premium red leather upper with monochrome accents throughout, except for the lace bow on the front of the toebox in cerise pink. This matches the wavy, stacked molded EVA Bondi midsole, which itself rests above a red outsole. The black pair is monochrome throughout, for a traditional Mary Jane look, with premium leather and textile across the upper panels.

2025 has been the year of formal sneaker hybrids, evolving the tech bro obsession with Allbirds into shoes that actually look good on and off the clock. Starting with the New Balance 1906L loafer and quickly picked up by Nike, Vans, HOKA, and Keen, the hybrid loafer has been one of the unexpected hits of the year. If the managerial class’s obsession with getting workers back to the office and the Hoka Bondi Mary Jane are any indicator, the hybrid style isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

The Hoka Bondi Mary Jane will be released on October 1, 2025 through select HOKA retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $170.
