In April, runner Sebastian Sawe broke the marathon world record, cracking the 2-hour mark for the first time in official competition. On his feet? The brand-new adidas Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3, the latest iteration of adidas’ $500 supershoe series. Now, after flying off the shelves following the marathon record and exploding in price on the secondary market, adidas is bringing pairs back to retail for the fall.
Say Adios to your Old Running Shoes
The adidas Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3 Restock will be ready to blow the doors off your elderly neighbors at your annual Turkey Trot 5K, bringing the $500 silhouette back before the month is over. Weighing in at less than 100 grams, the shoe is as bouncy and responsive as it is light, with a stack of Lightstrike Pro foam in the midsole.
After Sawe’s record-breaking run in April, adidas dropped an extremely limited stock of the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3 at retail, and even at a $500 price point, the pairs disappeared faster than Sawe from the rest of the pack. On StockX, pairs of the supershoe are still being listed for as much as $2,000. Now, adidas is adding another limited run, with specialty running retailer Fleet Feet noting that they will only be putting 40 pairs of the shoe online for this month’s restock.
