Earlier in the week, Justin Saunders’ Montreal-based design studio JJJJound revealed its latest project with Salomon, tackling the XT-6 silhouette. This initial post only revealed a single colorway, a GR-esque black and red build. However, today, JJJJound’s Instagram account revealed a second pair in their latest project with the French footwear label.
JJJJound’s signature aesthetic, especially when it comes to their footwear projects, is a lowkey, understated minimalist design language. This typically extends to the color palette as well, though this pair is one of their loudest in recent memory. A Wolverine-esque color palette of blue and yellow dominates the upper, with the base layer done in royal blue and the overlays lined in yellow.
Black accents trim the fused TPU paneling on the upper, while pops of red make a mark on the Salomon logos atop the tongue, the Lab text on the lateral toe, and the Salomon/JJJJound logos on the lateral and medial heels. JJJJound also replaces the typical Salomon text along the spine of the tongue, which features a black finish and a quickLACE system. Finishing the sneaker is the EnergyCell-cushioned foam midsole in yellow and black, ACS reinforcement in black, and a tonal black outsole.
The JJJJound x Salomon XT-6 Navy Yellow will release August 7, 2025, through JJJJound and Salomon online, while a global release will take place on August 8. The retail price is set at $190.
