It can be hard to overstate how hyped Nike Shox were at the turn of the 21st century. From running to basketball to walking the halls at school, Shox were marketed like moon boots for the street, adding springs underfoot that could let your middle school hoops team dunk like Vince Carter. Okay, so they didn’t exactly work like that, but with ads featuring Carter dunking over Gary Payton and detonating a claymation time bomb over mimes, they really did have us all hooked. Now, Nike is bringing the Shox lore back for a new generation.
The latest Shox model to hit the retro cycle is the Nike Shox BB4, the spring-powered basketball shoe that Carter made famous. In addition to the OG colorway in silver and black, the 2026 retro run will also feature the shoe’s Olympic colorway, which Carter wore in Sydney when he famously yammed over France’s 7'2 center Frederic Weis for an all-time great dunk.
Keeping things clean for the Olympic court, the colorway features a white base on the toebox and upper side panels, with navy blue covering the vertical cushioned paneling across the lower half of the sides and heel. The heel stabilizer and branding accents are all done in metallic silver, with more midnight blue in the Shox unit at the heel. We haven’t seen official photos of the 2026 pair yet, but the colorway remains consistent with the 2000 OG and the only other previous release, a 2019 retro.
The Nike Shox BB4 Olympics will be released Summer 2026 through Nike and select retailers in-store and online. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $190. To stay up on all the latest Nike retro news, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
