The New Martine Rose x Nike Shox R4 Mule Pack Releases This Week

These days, high-fashion sneaker collaborations are a monthly, if not weekly, occurrence. Runway-ready remixes of classic silhouettes and fresh designs with familiar branding have defined the intermingling nature of high and low fashion in the 2020s. But while so many designers keep a constant flow of colorways coming, former Balenciaga designer turned self-titled label owner Martine Rose has taken the slow and steady route with her ongoing Nike partnership.

After debuting a bulging Nike Monarch design in 2018, Rose turned the Shox R4 into an open-back mule in 2022. Now, six months after word surfaced of new Shox R4 Mule colorways in April of this year, we finally have pictures of one of the pairs, a white, red, platinum, and black pair that harkens back to the OG silhouette’s Y2K past. Starting with white leather on the toe and side panels, white mesh on the tongue, and platinum piping on either side of the lace panels, the side panel Swoosh is puffy and red with an embroidered gold outline. The Shox unit in the heel is shiny and black, which matches the top half of the tongue, except for the Martine Rose branding.

The second iteration comes coated entirely in the titular fire red shade. 3M hits do break up the monotone color palette when hit with a flash. After releasing many bright, bold colorways of the high-heel-inspired Shox model in years past, the white colorway is simpler and more subdued.

As part of the campaign for the collection, Martine Rose and Nike looked to the professional gaming scene. “Gaming is a new lens into how we view sport, and I want to help expand that lens,” says Martine. More specifically, the campaign and the shoes take after '90s LAN parties. Billy Mitchell, Scarlett, SonicFox, TenZ, and Ana are seen wearing the Shox MR4 in vintage-inspired posters.

The Martine Rose x Nike Shox R4 Mule Fall 2025 Collection will be released on October 30, 2025 through Nike, Martine Rose, and select retailers online and in-store.
