Giannis Antetokounmpo is in for a tough season in Milwaukee. With Damian Lillard back in Blazers red and out with an Achilles injury, Giannis will have Cole Anthony as a running partner and not much else in terms of supporting cast. No offense, Kyle Kuzma. [Editor’s note: The Bucks just signed dominant forward Thanasis Antetokounmpo. We’re looking into whether there’s any relation.] One thing we would never do is underestimate Giannis. Even if he has to do it himself, the Greek Freak could average 40 playing all five positions, and it wouldn’t surprise us one bit.

The latest colorway of the Nike Giannis Freak 7, dubbed the Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing, pays tribute to that versatile playing style. Covered in tan khaki across the sole and upper, the contrast pops out in bright green on the tongue, laces, and sock liner, with a darker slime green outlining the black Swoosh. The Freak 7 was specifically designed to complement Giannis’ signature euro step, with a custom “ANTETOKOUNMPO” traction pattern on the outsole and full-length Cushlon 3.0 cushioning, allowing Giannis to go wolf mode to the rim whenever he wants. We first saw the pair in early Freak 7 previews Giannis posted on Instagram, and the release is finally here.
The Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing branding was used on a pair of Nike Giannis Freak 6 that Antetokounmpo wore when Milwaukee won last season’s NBA Cup. That pair had a wolf graphic printed on the sole, which Giannis happily explained, with the mid-season tournament trophy in hand. “I don’t come out as a wolf, I come out as very down to earth, friendly, and approachable, but when I step on the court, I become this different character that’s deadly and aggressive, I become a wolf.” The theme continued onto the new Freak 7, but unfortunately, it doesn’t look like this pair has any specific wolf branding in the design.
The Nike Freak 7 Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing will be released on September 12, 2025 through select Nike retailers in-store and online. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $110.
