Even though Bruce Lee is sadly no longer with us, his influence still pulses through modern culture. From blockbuster films to high-fashion collections, the legendary martial artist has left an imprint everywhere – including the sneaker world. His signature Mexico 66 from Game of Death has informed countless release over the years to the recently unveiled DON Issue 7. And now, that influence lives on in the upcoming Nike Astra Ultra Bruce Lee.
The Astra Ultra is the American sportswear giant's latest entry into the flat sole sneaker trend. But unlike other brands such as adidas and New Balance, which often pull straight from their archives, this silhouette feels unapologetically futuristic. The upper is wrapped in quilted University Gold fabric, with dynamic, wavy lines running from toe to heel. Around the back, a handy pull tab makes for easy on and off, while a black suede tongue – reminiscent of old school soccer cleats – adds a unique textural contrast.

The sole unit is where things get even more experimental. Crafted from gum and sculpted low to the ground, it’s unlike anything else on the market. The surface is peppered with dozens of rubber nubs, boosting grip and traction whether you’re pounding city streets or making a quick pivot.
If you’re looking for a sneaker that breaks from the ordinary, the Nike Astra Ultra Bruce Lee is the one to watch. Dropping in 2025, it will release in women’s sizing via Nike and select retailers, both online and in-store.
