The past always informs the future, especially in the footwear world. For Nike, their deep archives have played a crucial role in the design language of modern-day silhouettes, some directly fusing elements from previously released models. This is true for the Air Max Waffle, a fusion of the ‘90s Air Max Plus and the ‘70s Waffle Racer. Alongside a new Ceramic colorway, the model is getting an Electrolime makeover.
Like its Ceramic counterpart, this Electrolime colorway of the Air Max Waffle features updated construction as the base swaps out the canvas for a semi-transparent mesh. This layer is done in a lime green finish, contrasting the deeper green hue used on the fuzzy suede mudguard, vamp, eyestay, and heel overlay. Channeling the BRS Powerwall Air Max 1, the Swoosh and heel tab come in a crimson hue that loudly stands out amongst the green hues of the upper.

Cream details on the lace set and tongue help finish the color palette on the upper. We see dual branding on the heel, one borrowed from the Waffle Racer (the Nike text on the leather heel tab) and the other from the Air Max Plus (the Tuned Air logo on the green suede overlay). Underfoot sits a split midsole featuring Waffle Racer tooling in the front half, a gum rubber waffle outsole working up the sidewall, and the Air Max Plus’ Tuned Air units in the heel.
The Nike Air Max Waffle Electrolime will release on June 18, 2025, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $145.
