In 2018, when LeBron James was at the peak of his stardom, and Donald Trump was in the White House for the first time, LBJ spoke up in an interview with ESPN about life as a Black man in America and the racist tension being stoked by Trump. In response to that interview, Fox News talking head Laura Ingraham proved James’ point, speaking to LeBron from her nationally broadcast stage and telling him to “shut up and dribble.” Of course, that only pushed LeBron to speak up more often.
As LeBron and Nike continue to celebrate The King’s most important career moments with 23 personalized colorways of his 23rd signature shoe, the latest colorway, the Nike LeBron 23 Shut Up and Dribble, is a purple and black mix that calls back to LeBron’s continued activism, including on-court protests after the murder of Trayvon Martin and George Floyd and his vocal support for the Black Lives Matter movement.
Starting with a black mesh upper, the irridescent armor side panels feature a gradient purple and black that shifts depending on your angle, similar to the LeBron 23 Green With Envy or the purple half of the LeBron 23 The Chosen One and the One Who Chose. Gold accents are added to the mini Swoosh on the toe and the LeBron signature tongue logo, with an icy blue sole underfoot to round out the colorway.
The Nike LeBron 23 Shut Up and Dribble will be released February 6, 2026 through Nike and select retailers in-store and online. Available in adult and grade school sizing, the retail prices are set at $210 and $165, respectively. For all the latest Nike LeBron news, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
