There hasn’t been a performance basketball sneaker from Nike that has been highly anticipated in the same way the public is looking at the GT Future. The Hyperflight and Foamposite-inspired silhouette, which was debuted at NBA All-Star 2025 by basketball prodigy AJ Dybantsa and rapper Wale, has been making waves in online spaces and has people excited about a new basketball shoe from The Swoosh in what seems like decades. Today, Nike officially unveiled the model as part of its Nike SNKRS Showcase, debuting a new Lightning colorway.
Alongside this Lightning pair, we got looks at the Fire and Metallic Silver colorways, though this rendition is the brightest of the bunch. The Foamposite-like synthetic upper is coated in a gradient lightning yellow hue, starting in a darker hue near the sole and working into a lighter shade near the top. Molded striations on the upper add depth to the sneaker, while black Swoosh logos hit the lateral collar and medial forefoot.

Also, multiple perforations are on the medial side for breathability. Moving up, the tongue contains black mesh, black laces, and a yellow vertical Swoosh. Final details include the black bootie construction on the inside, full-length Zoom Strobel and Cushlon 3.0 cushioning setup, and a forefoot Air Zoom unit.
The Nike GT Future Lightning will release in Holiday 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $200.
