With the NBA season upon us, the talk of the basketball sphere is centered on the New York Knicks and their ring ceremony. Brands have taken advantage of the extra hype and attention around NYC’s main basketball franchise (sorry Nets), creating ultra-limited capsules and sneakers, as Puma did with a 1-of-53 colorway of the Clyde, Skechers with OG Anunoby’s golden SKX Nexus PE, and Nike releasing Jalen Brunson’s Kobe 3 Low PE months early. While not a tie-in with the New York Knicks, Victor Solomon has been bringing the gold over to The Swoosh for months now, with new pairs expected soon.
Victor Solomon x Nike Air Force 1 ‘07 ASW Gym Red Details
Joining an already previewed Foamposite, an unseen Air Max 90, and three blue colorways on the same three sneakers, the Gym Red version of Solomon’s blinged-out AF1 retains the same design language seen on the white and black packs. Intricate paisley print is found on the leather toebox and midfoot panel, while tumbled leather graces the mudguard, eyestays, tongue tag, and heel counter.
All of this is dipped in gym red, while metallic gold shines on the Swoosh, chain rope laces, and the basketball hangtag on the top lace eyelet. The heel tab adds more paisley print alongside Victor Solomon’s signature and a golden Nike Swoosh. Finishing the sneaker is the red-on-red rubber midsole and outsole.
