When Nike and Foot Locker announced the grand opening of their Crenshaw Rec retail activation in collaboration with Nipsey Hussle’s The Marathon Brand, we knew there would be exclusive drops, but we didn’t quite know what to expect. This weekend, the Crenshaw Rec opened its doors to the public and definitely did not disappoint.
Protros for the Crenshaw Cougars
Amidst the community celebration and brand activations, Nike dropped pairs of an exclusive Kobe 3 Low Protro in a two-tone gradient, taking after the Crenshaw High School colors. Featuring a light shade of University Blue on the front half of the shoe, a Midwest Gold shade takes over on the back half with some two-tone bleed over in the middle.
A metallic blue strikes across the yellow panels on the Kobe sheath tongue logos and the large Swoosh on the heel. Beyond the Kobe 3 Low Protro pair, a matching Book 2 colorway brought more Crenshaw Cougars hype to the grand opening event that included an on-site burger pop-up, a basketball tournament, and more.
