One of only a handful of Nike athletes who have over 10 signature models, the others being LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Paul Rodrigeuz, Kevin Durant secured a lifetime deal with Nike in 2023. This means that even after his retirement from the NBA, we’ll be blessed to receive more Nike KD products. Not only will the line (likely) continue, but we’ll get more retros of previous KD models like we’ve been receiving the past few years. For 2026, we’re shifting away from the KD 4 over to the KD 6. Joining the already confirmed lineup, which includes the Brazil colorway, the Meteorology rendition from 2013 is also confirmed to hit shelves in Fall 2026.
Before Durant laced up for the Seattle SuperSonics, his dream wasn’t to become an NBA player. No, KD wanted to be a weatherman on TV. This childhood dream of his has been explored across his signature sneakers, most famously on the Nike KD 4 Weatherman, but this Meteorology KD 6 also taps into the theme. Unlike the Doppler radar graphics found on the Weatherman KD 4, the KD 6 uses isopleth map details. These linear, topographical-esque designs take over the Swoosh, portions of the tongue, the medial midfoot, and the lateral collar.
