The early NBA season has been incredible. In between more gambling drama than a Scorsese movie and Wemby stretching his limbs like Jordan at the end of Space Jam, Ja Morant is still diving to the rim, talking trash, and averaging a steady 22 over the first three games. And he’s doing it all in seemingly new colorways of his Nike Ja 3 every night. In 2026, Ja will have even more options, including a red and brown Year of the Horse colorway for Chinese New Year. As the great poet Young Thug once said, “Horses don’t stop, they keep going.”
The Nike Ja 3 Year of the Horse starts with a deep brown reinforced mesh upper with red TPU JA monogram overlays on the jagged support panels. A metallic gold Swoosh is added vertically on the lateral side panel and horizontally on the medial side. The tongue is covered in brown faux horse hair with a white JA logo embroidered at the top. The theme continues on the insoles with a series of handwritten Chinese characters.
Nike Ja 3 Year of the Horse
Chinese New Year has long been a sneaker holiday, with annual packs across major brands celebrating the turnover of the lunar calendar. After a full slate of Year of the Snake sneakers, so far we know that Nike is dropping a Kobe 8 Protro for the Year of the Horse and adidas is coming through with an AE 2 for the holiday, but there will no doubt be more CNY-themed pairs as we get closer to the February celebration.
The Nike Ja 3 Year of the Horse will be released Spring 2026 through Nike and select retailers in-store and online. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $145. For all the latest NBA signature sneaker news and drop info, don’t forget to download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
