Few things are scarier than the desert. The vast expanses of nothingness, the lack of water, and most importantly, the wildlife make for a pretty unforgiving landscape. With the NBA season about to start, Phoenix Suns’ star Devin Booker is once again diving into the desert theme for a new Halloween colorway of his Nike Book 1 signature shoe, covering the patent leather shoe in scorpions.
First posted on Instagram by @dbookone, 2025’s Nike Book 1 Halloween starts with a blacked-out patent leather upper for a heavy shine. Throughout the patent leather, a grey scorpion graphic (which also appears on the collar of the Nike Book 1 What The) turns into an all-over print of stingers and pincers, bringing the creepy Halloween theme to every panel. The Swoosh and laces are white for a bit of contrast, and the outsole is translucent white. We haven’t seen the shoes in the dark, but from the look of the Swoosh and the sole, we would guess these have some glow-in-the-dark surprises in store, too.

Last year, Nike brought out the Book 1 for its first bit of Halloween dress-up, adding a Frankenstein costume of sorts with black leather, a translucent green midsole, and rough white stitching covering the side panel Swoosh. With the Book 2 expected to be introduced sometime in the near future, the continued push for special edition colorways of the Book 1 is a strong sign of Nike’s commitment ot Booker’s signature line.
The Nike Book 1 Halloween 2025 will be released October 21, 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $155. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to make sure you never miss a Nike basketball drop.
