New Balance has struck a perfect, well, balance this year. The Boston-based sportswear brand has been heavy on the running trend like everyone else, built up its basketball program with a new signature silhouette from Tyrese Maxey, and continued to dominate the lifestyle space with a mix of classic mesh and suede dad shoes and a new lineup of futuristic silhouettes with slick uppers and extra cushion underfoot.
The New Balance 2000S Grey first popped up on our radar during a runway show from Brazilian fashion label Quadro Creations. New Balance laced the label with pairs of the reimagined 2000 silhouette in grey and yellow, both with a sleek, one-piece upper with triangular paneling with subtle textural additions throughout. To accentuate the pairs, Quadro Creations added their own beaded accessories to the pairs.

For the retail-ready construction, New Balance left Quadro’s beads on the runway, but kept the rest of the new silhouette. The entire upper is monochrome grey, but adds black accents between the textured upper panel and the mesh above it, with more black in the middle of the ABZORB cushioning in the midsole, and on the outsole underfoot.
The New Balance 2000S Grey will be released Fall 2026 through New Balance and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is still TBD. To stay up on all the latest New Balance news and drops, download the Sole Retriever App.
