New Balance loves a fashion show. From CDG to Junya Watanabe and the NBA tunnel, the Boston-based brand is always happy to reveal new shoes on the runway. For its latest high-fashion debut, New Balance connected with Brazilian fashion label Quadro Creations to supply the brand with a new silhouette to match the looks in its first-ever runway show.

Arriving at the show in two colorways, multi-tonal yellow and a cloudy grey, the updated silhouette takes the shape and ABZORB sole of the 2000 and adds upper paneling that reminds us of the new New Balance 5030. The reworked design adds a one-piece toecap that extends out to the side panels, leaving just a little room for a mesh lace panel and ankle collar.

The one-piece panel that makes up most of the upper features a unique, textured material that is purposely designed like it’s falling apart from the top. A small “N” logo is added at the lateral toe for a small bit of branding. Quadro Creations added beaded and fabric additions to the lace panels to match its clothing collection, but those accessories aren’t included in the NB retail pairs.

The New Balance 2000S doesn’t have a release or retail price just yet, but keep your eyes peeled for more info soon. To keep up with all the latest New Balance news and drops, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
