If the only thing fire is the shoes, hell, at least the shoes are fire.
The latest collab between Boston-based sneaker brand New Balance and local Beantown sneaker boutique Concepts is a shoutout to anyone who’s ever bricked a ‘fit, just to save the day with a clean pair of kicks. Adding subtle suede tones and hits of bright accents to a classic 997 silhouette, the new collab is built to go with any clothing combo and still look fresh.
The Concepts x New Balance 997 Made in USA Montage features grey suede on the toe and a perforated grey toebox, with a hit of bright yellow on the vamp before evolving into a charcoal black suede side panel. More black wraps around the heel in a mix of premium leather and suede on top of a bright pink heel stabilizer and a weathered yellow midsole. The gradient gold “N” logo on the side panel completes the mix.

Concepts branding is added on the insoles and with an embroidered logo in orange on the heel tab, with New Balance 997 logos added on the tongue and the midsole at the lateral side heel. The two Boston brands have collaborated plenty of times in the past, with colorways of the New Balance 1000 and 740 both dropping during the first half of the year. For the new 997, the two brands came together on a commercial for the colorway full of good-natured sibling rivalry.
The Concepts x New Balance 997 Made in USA Montage will be released December 9, 2025 via Concepts New York and Boston. An online release will take place on December 11. The pair is priced at $220. For all the latest news of New Balance collabs, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
