The Air Jordan 40 is drumming up more hype than numbered Jordans of the recent past, and, in addition to the silhouette’s slick design, that’s largely thanks to a string of self-referential hybrid models stacking past Air Jordan models onto the 40 frame. The latest Jordan 40 hybrid is a black and volt 4028.
We first saw the 4028 hybrid in a yellow and blue Orlando Magic PE for star Paolo Banchero in November, and now, the shoe gets a release-ready colorway that’s a clear reference to the black and volt Air Jordan 28 Stealth All-Star that dropped for the 2013 All-Star game in Houston.
The Air Jordan 4028 Black Barely Volt features a black upper with a patent leather toe and nubuck covering the side panels and the tall zip-up ankle sleeve. When folded over, the sheath reveals a volt green tongue and laces, with green 23 block letters on either side of the folded collar. The bottom adds an icy blue translucent hit for more classic Jordan references.
The Air Jordan 4028 Black Barely Volt will be released Summer 2026 through Nike and select Jordan retailers in-store and online. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $205. For all the latest Air Jordan 40 hybrid news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
