Jordan Brand’s numerical Air Jordan lineup expanded in 2024 with the introduction of the Air Jordan 39. Like previous Air Jordan 3X releases, the silhouette takes inspiration from the model that predates its 30 years prior, this one being the Air Jordan 9. The model is expected to launch in various new colorways as we enter the new year, including a recently previewed No Alteration iteration and the pictured RNWY variant.
Stealthy black hues cover most of the silhouette on this RNWY colorway, with the naming convention possibly referencing January’s Paris Fashion Week. This connection isn’t too far of a stretch, as other colors of the AJ39 have taken French influences, like the Croix and Lumiere releases. The pair also comes with a $15 price increase compared to normal AJ39s, likely due to the premium materials used on the silhouette.
As for its color scheme, we see an all-black upper come covered in a mixture of nubuck, textile, TPU, and leather, with the base forgoing its usual knit material in favor of black nubuck. Above this are textile embroidered details meant to mimic the wear-and-tear of MJ’s iconic cross-step move, derived from painting an Air Jordan 29 and having the paint crack for repeated cross-steps. The tongue has a perforated leather finish and features a Jumpman logo in a tonal black shade. Finishing the design is the phantom-shaded midsole containing ZoomX foam and Zoom Air units encased in a transparent rubber paired with a clear outsole.
The Air Jordan 39 RNWY will release in Spring 2025 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $215, a $15 increase from the standard Jordan 39 retail.
