Even well past his retirement, Michael Jordan still blesses the world with new performance basketball sneakers under Jordan Brand. No, we’re not talking about the various signature athletes or inline releases, but numerical Air Jordans that began with the Air Jordan 1 in 1985. While we’re awaiting info on the Air Jordan 40, which will fittingly be released during the brand’s 40th Anniversary in 2025, new colorways of the Air Jordan 39 have emerged, including the No Alteration rendition.
Like other pairs of the AJ 39, this iteration sees a neutral color scheme with pops of color on select portions of the upper. For the base, Jordan Brand applies a sail-shaded knit with a tonal camouflage-esque pattern derived from wear-testing a painted Air Jordan 29. More sail hits come on the leather paneling near the toe, the perforated tongue, and the collar and sockliner.
Providing some contrast from this cream color palette are pops of black on the toe, midfoot, and heel, each integrated into the sole unit and along the top portion of the tongue, which plays host to a game royal Jumpman logo. The royal color scheme continues onto the insole, contrasted by the black Air Jordan Type 39 label woven into the heel portion. Below, the silhouette features the latest cushioning technology from The Swoosh and Jordan Brand, combining ZoomX foam and Zoom Air units.
The Air Jordan 39 No Alteration will release in Spring 2025 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $200.
