The Air Jordan 17 is unanimously regarded as one of the best double-digit numbered Jordans. And as the briefcase-clad silhouette continues its recent retro run, the Jumpman is adding a new colorway that picks up its shiny patent inspiration from the sneaker industry’s current early-aughts obsession.
The Air Jordan 17 Retro Low Black Patent is the latest patent leather pair from Beaverton, following a strong run of Y2K-era Air Force 1 colorways and slick retro Hyperflights. Decked out in a triple-black upper, the new 17 retro adds metallic silver accents on the lace loops and dark icy blue outsole for the slightest hits of contrast.

On the upper, the patent colorway keeps things shiny from the toebox to the heel and across the vented side panels. A perforated black leather panel sits above the patent, and a black inner bootie rises above the tongue for the silhouette’s iconic ankle collar.
The Air Jordan 17 Retro Low Black Patent will be released Holiday 2026 through Nike and select Jordan retailers. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $240. With the lower retail price compared to previous retro releases of the AJ 17, don’t expect the iconic briefcase packaging.
