While the Oklahoma City Thunder should be celebrating the fact they’re undefeated in this young NBA season, sitting at 4-0 at the time of this writing, the mood is grim in OKC. Jalen Williams suffered a gruesome leg injury, breaking his left fibula and dislocating his left ankle, which will likely keep him out for the entire 2026-27 NBA season. Still, the show must go on, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will try to forge a path for the Thunder to make it back to the Finals. Helping him along the way will be his signature sneaker with Converse (well, Nike), the Shai 001, which is now dropping in a new orange-shaded Flare colorway.
Converse Shai 001 Lace Up Flare Details
If you think you’ve seen this Shai 001 before, you’ve got a good memory. During NBA Media Day, when SGA debuted a new orange Virgil Abloh Archives x Nike Air Force 1, he also revealed this orange and white colorway of the Shai 001. Only difference is that his pair removed the Converse branding for Nike since he’s now under the Nike Basketball umbrella. The retail version of the sneaker keeps the two-tone orange and white look, with orange hues covering the puffy midfoot panel and synthetic base.
Pops of white appear on the lining of the tongue and on the lace set, while more orange graces the tongue and the Shai logo on the tongue. Back on the heel, the plastic heel counter features a Converse chevron logo in white, differing from the version he’s been playing in, which features Nike text. Finishing the sneaker is the orange sole unit, which features a dual-foam setup of Phylon and EVA as well as a forefoot Zoom Air unit.

The Converse Shai 001 Flare will be released October 29, 2026 through Nike SNKRS, Converse, and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $120.
