NBA Media Day is always a sneaker industry holiday. The official start of the NBA season sees stars new and old come together in fresh jerseys with plenty of new shoes to match. Yesterday, we got our first look at LeBron in a Sixers jersey, along with a sunny yellow pair of the Nike LeBron 24, Steph rocked a PE colorway of the Li-Ning Way of Wade 12, and Devin Booker debuted a Futura collab on the Nike Book 2. In Oklahoma City, SGA skipped the hoop shoes for a pair of new V.A.A. x Nike Air Force 1s in orange, but brought an even more interesting pair that he left in his locker.
SGA’s New Nikes
Posted on what appears to be a new sneaker debut burner account in the same mold as other NBA stars like Ant Edwards and Ja Morant, Instagram user @twoshai gave an insider look at Shai’s OKC locker with a number 2 jersey, an Hermès handbag, and two pairs of shoes: the Virgil Forces and an orange Shai 001 with a Nike logo on the heel.
After debuting his signature sneaker line with Converse, Shai made a lateral move to Nike earlier this year, followed by months of anticipation for a Nike version of his Shai 001 shoe. Now, with the new season set to tip off in a few weeks, Shai is finally ready to show off his new Nikes.
