Just Two It: Nike Welcomed Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to Oregon to Solidify His Brand Switch

Toronto’s chosen son took a trip to Oregon this week, and Nike rolled out the red carpet. After announcing that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander would move his signature sneaker line from Nike-owned Converse to The Swoosh itself in June, Nike solidified the move with a campus-wide takeover for the OKC Thunder’s reigning back-to-back NBA MVP.

In a series of images from the Beaverton event, Nike showed off massive Shai banners and billboards across the office park, while crowds of employees and their families wore custom “Welcome 2 The Swoosh” shirts. Inside office buildings, Nike added “Just Two It” graphics to the wall alongside Shai’s matching double 2 and back-to-back reverse Swoosh logos.

As Converse continues to drop its final run of Shai 001 pairs, the Shai 002 will fall under the Swoosh umbrella. Unfortunately, though, if Shai did get to look at drawings, mock-ups, or sample pairs of the Nike Shai 002, we didn’t get images behind those closed doors.
