Asics’ mesh runners have dominated fashion and sneaker trends over the last year, as seen with models like the Gel-1130, GT-2160, and the Gel-Kayano series. Although these styles are often associated with the brand, other more niche products are offered by the Japanese footwear label. One of these is Gel-Yetitokyo, which was introduced via a collaboration with fellow Japanese brand nonnative in multiple colorways over the last few years. Following the most recent iteration of that collab, coming in a Brown Storm variant, the brand will introduce the model in a GR colorway later this month.
The sneaker comes in a clean tri-tone color scheme of mushroom grey, black, and white. For a standard suede finish, it ditches the premium Gore-Tex lining on the nonnative collab. This entire suede upper comes coated in the titular mushroom hue, while the black metallic eyestays strewn across the profile and collar hold a contrasting black lace set in place. At the top of the tongue, Asics branding is debossed into the suede paneling, matching the logo found on the spine of the heel.
