Kyrie Irving’s New Anta Kai 2 Clutch is a Tribute to his Finals-Winning Shot

No one in NBA history has played spoiler quite like Kyrie Irving. After the best regular season in NBA history and a route through the early rounds of the playoffs, the 2015-2016 Golden State Warriors started the finals up 3-1 and then ran into a brick wall in the Cleveland Cavaliers, eventually falling in Game 7 after Kyrie Irving’s incredible last-minute off-the-dribble three with Steph Curry guarding him. Talk about clutch.

The latest colorway of the ANTA Kai 2 is dubbed the Clutch as a tribute to Kyrie’s most iconic shot. Designed with Kyrie’s clutch gene in mind, the colorway starts with an upper full of black ice fabric to represent Irving’s icy cold demeanor during crunch time, with a matching icy grey outsole and hits of gold, olive green, and salmon to bring the color story together.

Kyrie has been sidelined with an injury all season, so he hasn’t had the opportunity to tap into his clutch mindset just yet, but he hasn’t been slacking on the sneaker side of things. In addition to constant colorways of his Kai 2 performance hoops shoe, Kyrie’s lifestyle sneaker line has also been top of mind, with a steady run of Hélà Style Roots colorways dropping while Irving works his way back to the Dallas lineup.
