These days, so-called sneakerheads often restrict themselves to hyped models like Jordans, Forces, and the latest hot New Balance, adidas, or Saucony pairs. Back in the day, though, sneaker obsessives had a much wider lens on the lifestyle, and the adidas ZX running line was one of the most beloved limited-edition series, with a legacy that continues to this day.
The adidas ZX 8000 France is the latest ZX pair to make its way back to the adidas lineup, returning to a 1991 classic in white, black, and aqua. Made in a time when sneaker production had already moved to Asia, the France colorway astounded adidas die-hards with its Made in France label. Along with the new release, legendary adidas designer Jacques Chassaing suggested that the original pair was likely constructed from Korean uppers and German soles in France to acquire the label.

Featuring a white leather base with subtly pinstriped white fabric on the toebox, tongue, and side panels, the Three Stripes are black with aqua backing to match the aqua midsole and sockliner. Lastly, a green adidas Torsion lace dubrae brings the pair back to its OG roots.
The adidas ZX 8000 France will be released August 2, 2026, exclusively at Overkill boutique in Germany, in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at €117 (approx $135 USD). For all the latest adidas ZX news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App
