Mark Gonzalez brings his Skate Art Vibes to a New Pair of adidas Jabbar Hi

See, this is what we love about the sneaker industry. In a melding of legendary minds that could only come through shared support from a brand like adidas, skateboard pioneer Mark Gonzales brought his creative artistic vision to a pair of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s iconic hi-top sneaker.

The Mark Gonzales x adidas Jabbar Hi hands the classic old-school hoops silhouette to the eccentric skate artist. The result is a clean combination of cream leather, hairy red suede, and a custom logo worthy of prints. Starting with cream suede on the toe cap, the rest of the upper is done in soft cream leather, with texture and color both coming from the red suede on the Three Stripes and ankle panels. The tongue label features both Jabbar and Gonzales’ signatures alongside a custom stitched logo featuring a basketball wearing Abdul-Jabbar’s rec spec glasses sitting next to Gonzales’ Shmoo character made famous in his art and through his Krooked skate brand.
