Keyshawn Johnson was an NFL journeyman with stops in New York with the Jets, Tampa Bay, Dallas, and Carolina. He outpaced defensive backs at every stop and always found his way to the endzone, giving him one of the best nicknames in sports, “Me-Shawn,” for his tendency to tell quarterbacks and coaches to just “give me the damn ball.” In his heyday, Johnson was an adidas-sponsored athlete with his own signature shoe, the EQT Key Trainer, but he was also the face of the GameSpeed cross-trainer. Now, the Three Stripes is looking back for the next year of cross-trainers, bringing Keyshawn’s GameSpeed back in a couple of shiny colorways.
The adidas GameSpeed Black is a black and white retro trainer with pitch-black patent leather covering the toecap and the wavy side panels and lower heel. The rest of the upper is a horizontally striped mix of white leather and mesh for a speedy look, with adidas EQT green added on the tongue label and lateral side toe.
We no longer live in an era of sneaker sponsorship that focuses on NFL athletes, but adidas has still kept some of the league’s best stars on payroll, including Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who recently signed a contract extension with the Three Stripes that will include his own golf line.
The adidas GameSpeed Black will be released Spring 2026 through adidas and select retailers in-store and online. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is still TBD. For all the latest adidas news, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
