Thanksgiving is a family and food holiday, but most importantly, it’s a football holiday. From friendly, or not-so-friendly, games of two-touch with extended family at the park to a long evening of pumpkin pie and NFL games, Turkey Day is the entire reason the NFL has a presence on Thursdays. Ahead of the annual pigskin tradition and Kansas City’s showdown against Dallas, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes announced a new multi-year contract extension on his adidas sneaker deal.

Mahomes has been the face of the adidas football program since he joined The Three Stripes in 2017, and since then, the three time Super Bowl winner has taken the brand’s gridiron program to new heights, helping establish a strong presence in youth football through NIL deals and bringing his alma mater, Texas Tech, on board as an adidas school after years with Under Armour.

In addition to his work on the field and pitchman for the brand’s football program, Mahomes’ adidas extension also takes the all-pro QB to a different kind of grass, adding a signature golf line to his existing cross-trainers and clothing. Mahomes, like Steph Curry, Matt Ryan, and other golf-obsessed pro athletes, has been vocal about his tee box hobby, and adding a golf line to his adidas deal is just one more example of the country club sport pushing further into mainstream appeal.

We don’t have specifics on the number of years or the financial details of the new deal between Mahomes and adidas, but with the kind of celebrity that transcends the NFL, we’re guessing the contract is probably heavier than the Chiefs front line.
