We’ve had a couple of hard starts with new basketball silhouettes this year. Under Armour found itself converting Steph Curry’s final signature shoe with the brand into a pro shoe for characters from Steph’s new animated animal movie, and at adidas, the new rollout of the Fear of God Basketball III comes as the final release from the FOG experiment, with the collaboration already cancelled.
Still, the show must go on until the very end, and Jerry Lorenzo’s third shot at adding his avant-garde approach to performance hoop shoes will release on schedule this spring. After an initial preview on Lorenzo’s feet courtside in Chicago late last year, we finally have a clear look at the FOG Athletics Basketball III in its debut Wonder Aluminum colorway.
The adidas Fear of God Athletics Basketball III is a wavy low-top silhouette with softer angles than the first two FOG-designed basketball silhouettes. Debuting in a multi-shade tonal grey colorway, the shoe features a mesh and suede upper with perforations across most of the paneling for supreme breathability. The side panels feature a wavy design on top of a thick midsole with plenty of padding underfoot.
The adidas Fear of God Athletics Basketball III Wonder Aluminum will be released Spring 2026 through adidas, Fear of God, and select retailers in-store and online.
