Can you really put a price on speed? At adidas, the answer is a resounding yes, and if you want to shave off those extra seconds, it’s going to cost a pretty penny. The brand introduced its $500 super shoe, the Adios Pro Evo 1, two years ago, which would inform the extremely popular (and affordable) Adizero Evo SL. After an ultra-limited drop for the follow-up Adios Pro Evo 2 this spring, the super shoe is back for a wider release, just in time for marathon season.
The most advanced racing shoe adidas has released to date, the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 2 is even more stacked than its predecessor, putting 39mm of Lightstrike Pro Evo foam in the heel and 36mm in the forefoot for 5% more energy return than the Evo 1. Underneath the stack, a liquid rubber sole was crafted to keep weight down, weighing in at an insane 4.8 ounces even with the extra foam.
