The world of 3D-printed sneakers is advancing at a rapid rate. At Nike, the Air Max 1000.2 is allowing for faster production of the printed Air Max silhouette, and at adidas, an all-new performance basketball shoe is bringing 3D-printing technology to the basketball court.
The adidas Additive is the latest hoops shoe from The Three Stripes, but instead of tying its fate to a signature star, the new pair packs in as much high-tech construction detail as possible. The Additive features adidas’ 4D woven material on the side panels, a 3D-printed midsole, and a padded collar design for supreme comfort on and off the hardwood. We first got a glimpse at the model back in March when adidas gave early previews of the then-unnamed 3D-printed basketball shoe.

Debuting in a Solar Red Orbit Grey colorway, the pair features a static grey colorway across the entire upper, with Solar Red on the outsole that creeps up to the midsole and slowly dissolves into grey. The shape features a one-piece armored upper with a triangular vamp, giving it the same general shape as the AE 2 and Harden Vol. 10.
The adidas Additive Basketball Solar Red Orbit Grey will be released July 14, 2026, through adidas and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $250. For all the latest adidas new and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
