Last year, Nike entered the 3D-printing footwear game by partnering with famed German-based manufacturer Zellerfeld. The duo created the Air Max 1000, a modern interpretation of Tinker Hatfield’s original Air Max 1 design that was fully 3D-printed and laceless. Nike’s multi-year partnership with Zellerfeld has more in store for us in terms of footwear projects, as the two have developed another Air Max silhouette, the Air Max 95000.

Instead of reinventing what the duo have already come up with, Nike and Zellerfeld treat the Air Max 95000 as an incremental upgrade that, like its Air Max 1000 cousin, reimagines the Air Max 95 through a similar lens. The same low-top design and general shape from the Air Max 1000 remain, but with new wavy linear lines, human anatomy-inspired sculpted features, and the introduction of a new technology from Nike called Project Nectar. Essentially, Project Nectar is a new printing process that has been in development for nearly a decade, allowing for durability and traction on the outsole of 3D-printed footwear. It also allows Nike to do embellishments on the 3D-printed upper, like Swooshes. Because Zellerfeld’s printing process uses TPU materials, the TPU-based Project Nectar can be added without the use of glue.

Other changes made compared to the Air Max 1000 include the use of the “big bubble” Air unit in the heel, which returned earlier this year to help celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Air Max 95. A new set of forefoot Air units, also taken from the Air Max 95, are embedded within the 3D-printed sole unit. Like all Zellerfeld designs, the Air Max 95000 uses the German-based brand’s proprietary filament that is stretchy, soft, and durable. As for printing time, Nike shared that it takes just under 48 hours for a pair to be made, but the Project Nectar embellishments take less than a minute to attach.

On the Black Volt colorway, which clearly draws inspiration from the classic Sergio Lozano-designed Air Max 95 Neon, we see Project Nectar used on a wavy line that wraps around the entire upper of the sneaker and on the outsole. There’s also an added Air Max logo in the center of the outsole courtesy of Project Nectar. The rest of the sneaker is covered in black with pops of neon coming from the Swoosh on the lateral heel and the Air units. Air Max 95000 is found stamped on the heel’s Air unit.

An original ComplexCon-exclusive drop of the Air Max 1000 in November 2024 led to a wider rollout in the summer of 2025 when The Swoosh and Zellerfeld dropped the Oat and Black colorways in limited quantities. There was also a limited release of a blue colorway for Paris Fashion Week, and more recently, a Zellerfeld-exclusive Lilac pair.

A similar rollout will be employed for the Nike Air Max 95000. Expect a limited release at ComplexCon in Las Vegas on October 25-26 followed by a wider drop on Black Friday (November 28) for $250. Nike also previewed multiple other color options, though there’s no confirmed release for the other options at this time.
