Tyrese Maxey’s New Deal with New Balance Includes a Signature Sneaker in 2026
PublishedQuick Facts
- Tyrese Maxey has agreed to a contract extension with New Balance
- The new deal includes a signature sneaker
- There's no name yet for his shoe, but it's expected to release in 2026
- Maxey was also just named a starter for the NBA All-Star Game, so it's possible he debuts the sneaker next month

At the start of the decade, New Balance was not top of mind when it came to performance basketball. Throughout the 2020s, they’ve expanded their in-line performance lineup and have continued to drop new silhouettes for the brand’s only signature athlete (before today), Kawhi Leonard, earning a place in the minds of hoopers both at the amateur and professional level. Joining Kawhi as the second signature athlete on New Balance’s roster is Philadelphia 76ers star Tyrese Maxey.
Maxey first signed with New Balance in January 2023, and has since dropped a handful of different player-exclusive colorways across different silhouettes. In July 2025, Maxey dropped his own colorway of the Hesi Low v2, a performance basketball model he helped debut in 2024, and a matching 1906R lifestyle sneaker. Prior to this, he helped debut the Two WXY v4 when it dropped at the beginning of 2024.
The announcement of this new deal with New Balance comes on the heels of Tyrese Maxey being named as a starter for the upcoming NBA All-Star Game, marking the first time he’s earned a starting role. His first All-Star nod came in the 2023-2024 season. As of now, we only know that Tyrese Maxey’s signature sneaker with New Balance is expected to be released by the end of 2026. There’s no official name, retail price, or any idea of what the model looks like at the time of this writing.
"We’re so excited that Tyrese was named an All-Star starter and to get to share this moment with him," said Naveen Lokesh, Head of Global Sports Marketing, Basketball. "He represents everything we value at New Balance, hard work, authenticity, and confidence, so working together to bring his first signature shoe to life is a natural step in celebrating who he is and where his journey is headed."
More information should come to light in the coming weeks, especially considering Maxey was just named as one of the starters for the upcoming NBA All-Star Game. We wouldn’t be surprised to see Tyrese pull up to NBA All-Star rocking his new model. Stay updated on all things Tyrese Maxey x NB by downloading the Sole Retriever mobile app.
