Travis Scott Just Dropped Merch for The Odyssey

The ancient poet Homer probably had no idea that his stories would survive thousands of years, but here we are today with a motion picture based on The Odyssey raking in over $700 million in just 13 days. With the story being so closely associated with oral poetry, handed down for generations before Homer authored his poem, director Christopher Nolan paid homage to the art form by casting Travis Scott as a bard in the film. You know La Flame wouldn’t pass up an opportunity to drop some merch to coincide with his latest endeavor in film.

Maybe the film itself is just a Trojan Horse for the studio to get a Travis Scott collab.

On Travis’ merch site, there are four items available for purchase alongside two sets of photos for the friends-and-family Nike shoes created in celebration of the movie. Both the ACG Moc and the Moon Shoe were previewed by Scott previously, the Moc on The Tonight Show and the Moon Shoe on the red carpet of The Odyssey premiere, but Scott has confirmed it to be an exclusive for the cast and crew of the film.

The Moon Shoe features a deconstructed build with black tumbled leather and high-quality black suede. Burgundy-shaded fur is used on the reverse Swoosh on both sides of the sneaker, with more burgundy found on the lace set. For the ACG Moc, the entire upper is coated in a burgundy fur. King Agamemnon is referenced on the pull tab on the heel with a spine charm that looks just like the helmet Benny Safdie wears in the film.

As for the merch you can actually get your hands on, Travis has prepped two T-shirts, a long-sleeve shirt, and a tote bag. One of the two T-shirts features the opening lines of the film spoken by Scott, “A Face. A Fleet. A War. A Man. A Thought. A Trick,” on the back, and references to the IMAX and the two million feet of film shot for the movie on the chest.

The second T-shirt uses a black-and-white photo of Odysseus’ helmet, with a quote from his speech after hearing the siren’s song, “What you most want is what you most can’t have. And what you most can’t have is what you already had and lost.” The final pieces of merch includes a long-sleeve T-shirt with IMAX branding on the back and front and a tote bag with the tagline of the film “Defy The Gods” stamped onto the bag.

Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack merch for The Odyssey is available now for pre-order, with shipping times estimated at 5-6 weeks. The sneakers are, unfortunately, for the cast and crew of the film, so unless you were helping lug around that 400+ pound IMAX camera, you’ll have just to admire these beauty shots.
