The team at adidas is obsessed with a few perfectly predictable cultural landmarks, from the soccer stadium to the 1980s and ‘90s European rock scene, and sometimes, both at the same time. After a recent City Series drop celebrating the major bands that emerged from a small club in Glasgow, adidas is heading south to Manchester for a pack of colorways dedicated to Manchester United football club and the centerpiece of the 1980s Manchester music scene, The Stone Roses.

The Stone Roses x Manchester United x adidas Collection features two shoes: a Tobacco in tan and a ZX600 in black with red accents, both co-branded with Stone Roses lyrics and graphics, as well as Manchester United crests on the insoles. Using the cover graphics from The Stone Roses’ self-titled 1989 album on the insoles, adidas adds a Manchester United crest on one insole and the lyrics “I Want to Be Adored” added to the club’s devil graphic.

This isn’t the first time the band and the team have joined forces. The lyric crest theme originated from a collaboration between the band and the club in 2024, which featured Man U kits with a similar logo that highlighted the song “This Is The One.” The lemon logo from the album cover is added to the tongue label of the left shoe on both pairs, with a Stone Roses logo on the right tongue label.

The Stone Roses x Manchester United x adidas Collection will be released January 15, 2026 through adidas Europe and select European retailers in-store and online.
