Stussy and Nike have a long-standing collaboration history, often reviving classic and sometimes forgotten silhouettes. Last year, Stussy brought forth multiple colorways of the Nike Vandal, and in 2024, the partnership focused on the revival of the Nike LD-1000. Initially released in 1977, the LD-1000 became infamous after its recall due to causing injuries among runners. Stussy aims to bring new life to this model with multiple colorways, including the already-revealed Action Green rendition and three unseen colorways. Now, a Stussy-exclusive colorway has emerged in Phantom Aquarius Blue.
The Stussy x Nike LD-1000 Phantom Aquarius Blue features a lightweight woven mesh upper, providing breathability and a vintage aesthetic. Suede details in a tonal phantom shade adorn the toebox, eyestays, and heel, blending seamlessly with the mesh. The midfoot boasts an embroidered Swoosh in a striking aquarius blue, which matches the Stussy-branded heel tab. Additional Stussy branding appears on the tongue tag, featuring the label's signature font in an inverted design. The look is completed with a fossil-shaded foam midsole for cushioning and a black rubber outsole with a classic waffle traction pattern for grip.
The Stussy x Nike LD-1000 Phantom Aquarius Blue will release on July 12, 2024, exclusively via Stussy online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $110.
